Just a random though journal about thunderstorms. I love thunderstorms
buttt first.
First: I haven't updated my journal in ages. I am still around in
#damn quite a bit. I am not dead. Promise!
Second: For those easily offended or look into things too deep. This journal is not meant to "shove God down your throat" kinda stuff so slow your roll before posting something on my journal going "OMG STFU U NUT" or something.
Anyhow.
I remember this saying (that I can't really remember who said it or the exact words and I'm too lazy to google) that said, "if you don't believe in God, you haven't seen a sunset/sunrise."
Good saying, but I've taken that saying and turned it to something that I think is better. If you don't believe in God, you haven't seen an awesome thunderstorm
People might be all "say wut dawg? u had 2 mny cookiez brah!"
Yeah I know.
I just find them fascinating. They calm me but they also give me an adrenaline rush. The reason I bring this all up is cause where I live hasn't seen much rain this year (we're 13 inches below our regular rain fall for the year) and we finally had a nice thunderstorm last night.
Also just a fun little side story about how I came to love storms.
When I was a kid..like 4-5yrs old I remember just freaking out over storms. By "freaking out" I mean I ran away and hid, plugged my ears and closed my eyes lol. I guess what any other normal young kid what would do.
How did I get over this?
This is by far my most favorite memory I have with just my father and I.
We lived out in California. We had a few acre property that we lived on (had horses and such) but yeah. I remember one day a storm was rolling in. I was gonna run away, but instead my father stopped me. He looked at me and told that we should go outside and check it out and watch it come in and he would explain how thunderstorms "worked" and why I shouldn't be such a panzy. He took my outside, we pulled out 2 lil plastic lawn chairs and sat down. We watched as the storm rolled in from the west, over a hill coming right at us. You could see the show this storm was putting on perfectly. It was just..I don't even know. I was in awe as I watched and as my dad taught me about storms. By the end of the "talk" it was about to hit us and we headed in. Instead of running and hiding like a baby this time around, I watched from the windows and every time I saw a lightning strike I'd run to my dad and try to be all "smart" and explain to him what he taught me lol.
So yeah. Just a little back info on why I love storms. If I could storm chase I would do so in a second. They are just amazing to me. Hence why my lil saying up above.
Like I said. Random journal is random. Thanks for letting me share my story
Also in other news. Rev Run (from Run DMC) is coming to our church today and I gotta go
have a good one everyone
